Saguaro National Park, AZ | Barge Photography

From our vacation this week to Saguaro National Park in Arizona. The saguaro cactus are amazing to see in person, just how tall they are, with the tallest ever recorded at 78 feet! These slow-growing giants can live for 150 to 200 years, and typically only add 1-1.5″ per year! It often takes 75 to 100 years to even develop its first “arm.” It was also the first time that I have been to a “dark area” during a new moon and brightness of the stars was unbelievable to see! Will be trying to shoot the stars during future vacations for sure.

A few pictures I got over Jan-Feb of the icy Ohio River. I would love for the river to ice over like it did in 1977, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Great memories of my dad taking me down there to walk on it. Maybe again one of these days!
